Texture is very fine and even.
Vessels are moderately small to medium-sized and moderately numerous, in radial groups of two to seven and with simple perforations. Tyloses present in some vessels.
Wood parenchyma is sparse and indistinct.
Rays are moderately fine.
USES
This is an important marine piling timber in Sabah. It is also an attractive wood for furniture. Other uses include flooring, interior finishing, panelling, mouldings, door and window frames, pallets and crates.
