MyTLAS yang dilaksanakan sejak tahun 2013 merupakan sistem penentusahan kesahihan komoditi kayu kayan di Semenanjung sebagai memenuhi keperluan EU Timber Regulation (EUTR). MyTLAS bertujuan untuk membantu pengeksport dalam memenuhi keperluan kaedah penilaian (due diligence) yang melibatkan semua syarikat yang terlibat di dalam rantaian pengeluaran produk kayu seperti pengeksport, pembekal, pedagang, pemproses dan pengimport.

Pihak Eropah telah memaklumkan pemakaian pelaksanaan peraturan European Union Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR) yang mengantikan peraturan European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) dan telah diluluskan oleh Parlimen EU seterusnya akan dikuatkuasakan pada Disember 2025. EUDR memfokuskan kepada peranan dan tanggungjawab operator dan pedagang terlibat dengan EU memastikan tidak melibatkan produk yang dihasilkan dari aktiviti yang menyumbang kepada deforestation dan degradation hutan.

Bagi memastikan pelaksanaan MyTLAS-EUDR ini dapat dilaksanakan dengan terancang dan teratur, MTIB melaksanakan trial run bagi memenuhi keperluan peraturan EUDR yang akan berkuatkuasa mulai 1 Oktober 2024 melibatkan 12 syarikat pengeksport. Keperluan dokumentasi tambahan dalam pengisytiharan butiran permohonan Sijil MyTLAS-EUDR, pihak pengeksport perlu mengemukakan maklumat tambahan berikut:

• Maklumat lesen pembalak;
• Maklumat pas pemindah;
• Maklumat nama saintifik spesies kayu; dan
• Dokumen pensijilan PEFC/MTCS/COC dan lain-lain (jika berkaitan);

Dalam hubungan ini juga, sesi penilaian due diligence dan pengurangan risiko ke atas syarikat pengeksport, pengimport, pembekal dan pedagang komoditi kayu kayan akan dilaksanakan secara berfasa di tahun 2025. MyTLAS, implemented in 2013, is a system to verify the legality of timber commodities in Peninsular Malaysia to meet the requirements of the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR). MyTLAS aims to assist exporters in fulfilling the due diligence requirements, which involve all companies in the timber product supply chain, including exporters, suppliers, traders, processors and exporters.

The European Union has announced the implementation of the European Union Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR), which will replace the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR). This regulation has been approved by the European Parliament and will come into force in December 2025. The EUDR focuses on the role and responsibility of operators and traders involved with the EU to ensure that products do not come from activities that contribute to deforestation and forest degradation.

To ensure the planned and orderly implementation of MyTLAS-EUDR, MTIB is conducting a trial run to meet the requirements of the EUDR, which will take effect on October 1, 2024. Twelve exporting companies will be involved in this trial run.

As part of the additional documentation requirements for the declaration of MyTLAS-EUDR certificate details, exporters are required to submit the following additional information:

1. Timber harvesting license information;
2. Transport permit information;
3. The scientific name of the timber species;
4. Certification documents such as PEFC/MTCS/COC or others (if relevant).

In relation to this, due diligence and risk reduction assessments for exporters, importers, suppliers, and traders in the timber commodities sector will be carried out in phases in 2025.
