Aquilaria plantation for production of agarwood and value-added products offers a promising potential to planters and smallholders.The export and domestic sales of agarwood have shown an increasing trend over the years.

Currently,agarwood production in Malaysia can hardly meet the export and domestic demand due to the limited supply availability. As supply of agarwood from the natural forest is quite limited, a long term supply alternative can be provided through the establishment of Aquilaria plantations.
