:: CUSTOMISED TRAINING

These are courses, which
are tailor-made to suit specific needs of companies and are offered upon
request. WISDEC makes special arrangement with companies to provide practical
training in specific areas identified by a company. Depending on request,
the training could be conducted either at WISDEC or at the premise of
a company.

SCHEDULED COURSE |
These are courses conducted to meet the
requirements of the various sectors of the wood-based industry. These
courses have a high content of practical knowledge, and are most targeted
towards the operator and supervisory levels. For the managerial level
courses, the emphasis is on aspects related to management of production,
quality control and quality management systems.

APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME - FURNITURE
|

WISDEC is also involved
in counducting a specialised programme - the Wood Based Industry Apprenticeship
Programme since 2003. The Programme represents the collaborative efforts
in training of MTIB, the wood-based industry players, Pembangunan Sumber
Manusia Berhad (PSMB) and the National Vocational Training Council. The
programme was officially launched by the Deputy Minister of Primary Industries
Malaysia, Y.B Datuk Anifah Haji Aman, JP, on 29 January 2003 has been
succeeded in creating a pool of skilled workers in the furniture sector.
The Wood Based Industry
Apprenticeship Scheme is a structured programme, which provides an excellent
career opportunity to school leavers. who are interested to pursue a career
in furniture manufacturing. The sponsoring company pays for all the expenses
during the training period of the apprentices. Upon the successful completion
of training, PSMB and the National Vocational Training Council will award
apprentices the Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 1 and 2. A secured
job is waiting the apprentice upon successful completing the course.
