With a comprehensive display of state-of-the-art products, unique exhibits and extensive services on show, the Timber Showcase won the Best Booth Award at the Malaysia International Commodity Conference and Showcase, MICCOS 2007 held from 3 – 8 July 2007 in Putra world Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The Showcase was a collaborative effort of MTIB, MTC, MTCC and MFPC and was designed by Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. Other agencies which contributed to the success of the Timber Showcase was UPM, Forestry Departments (Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak), FRIM and Malaysian Timber Association.

More than 80 agencies, organisations and companies participated under the Timber Showcase banner, which spanned a total area of 1,700 sq metres.

The layout of the booth highlighted the accomplishments of the major sub-sectors of the timber industry in Malaysia and generated immense interest among visitors to the showcase. The sections in the Showcase brought to light developments of the forest plantation initiatives, R&D and technology on timber products and biocomposites, traditional as well as modern applications of timber, the latest furniture designs, the creative use of timber and the roles and services of timber-related agencies.
