SME Competitiveness Rating For Enhancement (SCORE)
is a tool to rate and evaluate performances and capabilities of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in Malaysia based on the seven following parameters:

i)          Business performance;

ii)         Financial capability;

iii)        Technical capability;

iv)        Production capability;

v)         Innovation;
vi)        Quality systems and

vii)       Management capability.

SME's timber industry is encouraged to undergo SCORE in preparation to meet the eligibility requirements for applying for assistance / grants / incentives offered by the government and financial institutions. Among the agencies and financial institutions which have placed SCORE as one of the conditions of application are:

i)          SME Bank

ii)         SME Corp. Malaysia

iii)        Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad

iv)        Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB)

v)         Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB)

vi)        Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB)

vii)       Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC)

viii)      Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC)


As a strategic partner of SME Corp. Malaysia, MTIB has targeted a total of 100 SME's timber industry to undergo SCORE’s evaluation for the year 2012.
